Network Engineer

Responsibilities

• By analyzing data and understanding business requirements, you ll translate them into technical requirements, ensuring alignment with infrastructure and network capacity needs.
• You ll complete relevant reporting documentation, ensuring it adheres to both internal and external standards.
• Collaborating closely with other business areas, you ll schedule and coordinate capacity and network upgrades, meeting service level objectives.
• When vital, you ll lead upgrades, coordinating efforts with internal teams and third parties.
• Building accurate documentation and monitoring system performance are crucial to contribute optimally to business activities and continuous improvement.
• You ll support the deployment of emergent engineering patterns across development teams.
• Contributing to creating solutions, you ll coordinate design work within the infrastructure and network domain.

Required Skills and Experience:

• A bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in an IT-related field is essential or related experience.
• Previous roles in architecture or engineering are valuable.
• Significant experience in technology-focused positions
• Extensive knowledge of routing and switching protocols, with a preference for CCIE or CCNP
• Proven years of experience in network products and services, ideally working with Cisco, Juniper, and Arista technologies while actively pursuing further accreditation, is important.
• Expertise spanning LAN, WAN, HSRP, NAT, MPLS, VPN, GRE, BGP, and OSPF is vital.
• Excellent knowledge of network Packet analysis and Packet Capture tools gives to operational efficiency.
• Experience with Data Centre Networking, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Cisco ACI, VxLAN, and related technologies, is valuable.
• Understanding cloud environments and possessing knowledge of network security, including standard processes, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with load balancing technologies, TCP/IP, and multicast in internet environments is important..
• Proficiency in Python and Ansible allows for streamlined tasks.
• Strong spoken and written English language skills, combined with client management abilities, supply to successful collaboration

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of multicast concepts, including IGMP, RP, and PIM, is beneficial.
• Familiarity with low-latency technologies commonly deployed in the financial sector is advantageous.
• Proficiency in required Service Management processes, ideally with ITIL knowledge, is advantageous.
• Exposure to the financial sector and its associated technologies is valuable
