Job Title: AWS Cloud Architect
Location: Austin, TX
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to support the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in developing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud strategies and solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in AWS services, cloud architecture, and CI/CD pipelines, along with strong collaboration and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage AWS cloud strategy and oversee the adoption process.
* Analyze business operations, applications, and security requirements to define AWS solutions.
* Gather design requirements and implement AWS cloud architectures for new and existing projects.
* Ensure AWS designs meet performance, security, and compliance standards.
* Provide best-practice guidelines for building AWS infrastructure.
* Evaluate and approve changes, communicating impacts to stakeholders.
* Establish metrics to measure cloud performance and architecture quality.
* Collaborate with project teams, vendors, and stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience (4 7 years):
* Strong experience in architecting, designing, and implementing AWS services including S3, EC2, Lambda, Glacier, SNS, EBS, CloudFront, SQS, and VPC.
* Expertise in cloud architecture implementation.
* Experience with CI/CD pipeline setup and management.
* Proven ability to create and execute AWS cloud strategies.
Preferred Skills & Experience (3+ years):
* Vendor management and oversight.
* Hands-on project work.
* Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ticketing systems.
* Ability to follow complex workflow processes.
