Title : Data Center Field Technician

Duration : Contract to Hire

Location : Phoenix, AZ Chicago, IL Denver, OR Seattle, WA

Essential Job Functions:

  • Travel : Enterprise Technicians Travel Regionally & Nationwide approximately 80% of the time to deliver our services at the quality level our clients have come to expect. Technicians do and are expected to travel for multiple days but not usually more than a week at a time.
  • Perform the following Data Center work on a regular basis:
    • Physically de-racking and/or re-racking of Network, Storage, Server assets (Rack & Stack)
    • Perform Cable Removal within Rack, above and below racks.
    • Perform Rack Removals
  • Perform Office Decommissioning and Relocations of equipment
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in physically intense projects & environments. Must have the ability to routinely lift 70 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to push, pull and carry heavy equipment from one location to the other.
  • Know Data Center Protocols for the intention of knowing how to complete project scopes while onsite.
  • ComptiaA+ Certification is a plus.
  • Must have Erasure skills and experience in wiping hard drives utilizing 3rd party software such as Blancco or EPS is a plus.
  • Must have Intermediate PC Skills MS Office with an emphasis on Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to follow instructions and work efficiently under supervision Can Do Attitude

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to security protocols when handling sensitive information or equipment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures as required.

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to travel regionally and nationally up to 80% of the time, including overnight stays and multi-day assignments.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 70 pounds regularly without assistance.

Must have the physical ability to:

    • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and crouch for extended periods while performing data center and equipment handling tasks.
    • Reach, grasp, and manipulate small to large components and tools as part of racking, stacking, and decommissioning work.

Must be able to work in environments that require:

    • Frequent movement between workstations and equipment racks.
    • Climbing ladders or accessing equipment above and below rack height levels.
    • Exposure to varied indoor environments, including office and data center settings with temperature-controlled conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with client and company safety protocols.
  • Must maintain sufficient manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computers, tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
  • May be required to operate pallet jacks or other basic material handling equipment.
