Location: 100% Remote
Length: 12 + months contract
Payrate range: $52-$56/hr.

Job Description:
The Senior Planning Engineer will build, augment, and groom infrastructure circuits on company state-of-the-art network.
They will collaborate daily with Architecture, IP Planning, IP Design, and IP Operations.

Job Description:
The Senior Planning Engineer will build, augment, and groom infrastructure circuits on company state-of-the-art network.
They will collaborate daily with Architecture, IP Planning, IP Design, and IP Operations.
The Main Responsibilities
- In cooperation with IP Planning, Architecture & Engineering, IP Operations, and Field Engineers; draft MOP (Method of Operating Procedure) documents to perform infrastructure circuit augments, disconnects, hot-cuts, and grooms
- Coordinate IPNOC calendar with GCR (Global Change Request) submissions
- Leverage CCNA level technical skills to build, test, disconnect and migrate infrastructure circuits for a variety of platforms and Autonomous Systems
- Comfortable navigating through complex projects, Autonomous Systems, processes, and tools
- Flexibility with project scope adjustments, process improvements, technological growth and general function evolution
- Routing & switching comprehension of various vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Nokia), various dynamic routing protocols (IS-IS, BGP, MPLS, OSPF), and various switching protocols (LLDP, CDP, Spanning-Tree, MAC)
- Troubleshoot router and switch circuits using either the OSI Model or DoD Model
- Automate repetitive technical and non-technical processes, configurations, MOPs, and reporting
- Document NRT (Network Readiness Testing) platforms, devices, processes, and technical requirements
- Participate and lead conference calls with various layers of stakeholders involved
Requirements:
- 1-5 years of working experience with routing & switching technology in either an Enterprise or ISP environment
- 1-5 years of education or working experience with foundational automation programming languages
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Ability to effectively organize work projects, maintain clear records/notes, and manage time well to optimize efficiency and productivity
- Ability to be effective in an evolving technological environment, and make appropriate decisions independently
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with intra-team and inter-team engineers, project managers, technicians, vendors, and contractors
