Job Title: L3 Support Engineer
Location: Mississauga, ON (Hybrid)
Duration/Term: Long Term Contract
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced L3 Support Engineer with expertise in governance, operational risk management, quality assurance, and technical troubleshooting. This role requires independent problem-solving, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to analyze complex data patterns to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance & Compliance:
- Maintain team governance routines, ensuring procedural updates and deck preparation for governance forums.
- Ensure standards and processes are consistently applied, including monitoring and root cause analysis.
- Support data collation for audits and management reviews.
- Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies.
Operational Risk & Issue Management:
- Identify execution errors and drive prioritized remediation efforts.
- Detect, track, and verify completion of self-identified issues and action plans.
- Develop stakeholder relationships across all lines of defense.
- Perform root cause analysis on operational weaknesses, recommending corrective actions.
Technical & Data Analysis:
- Define system enhancements, utilizing script tools and interpreting code.
- Apply SQL and Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark) for operational insights.
- Prepare metrics and reporting for senior management review.
- Support data review procedures, including defining scope and sampling approaches.
Stakeholder Engagement & Leadership:
- Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) to senior stakeholders and technical teams.
- Provide guidance on compliance testing and operational risk management.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead problem-solving discussions, ensuring effective execution and resolution strategies.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Comprehensive understanding of quality assurance, internal audit, compliance testing, and operational risk management.
- Strong data analysis skills (SQL) with technical expertise in Big Data technologies.
- Experience with Hadoop, Hive, Impala, Spark, and programming languages.
- Demonstrated problem-solving, decision-making, and ethical judgment in operational settings.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex topics clearly.
- Attention to detail with an analytical, pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
