Job Description:
This person will become the team lead and will manage the team, interact with business and tech senior leadership,These guys are at the same level as Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and Blackstone.
Sr. MDM Engineer Lead with specific experience in Semarchy (ideally with Financial Services/Asset Management clients), who has experience leading a small team, and is very hands-on. Opportunities with us tend to be very long term (some consultants have been there for many years), so if the candidate does well, it could be a very stable situation.
The job description is attached and in addition to the attached JD, I want to highlight the following critical qualities they are seeking:
Strong communication and analytical/problem-solving skills, including experience interacting with businesspeople.
Experience with Semarchy is a must, and ideally also ETL/ELT, Data Modeling, Snowflake, DBT/Fivetran, Azure Data Factory (ADF), MuleSoft/Jittterbit or similar technologies.
Needs to be a local candidate who can go into the midtown NYC office up to 3 days a week.
This will need to be a highly competent senior consultant, who has managed small teams and business/tech leadership. Most of their current consultants (and employees) are from other blue-chip investment banks and global financial institutions. Experience with mutual funds distribution and the asset management business is a very desirable.
The culture is very typical of a wall street investment bank that expects high-end competency, commitment, and availability to get things done as the client demands.
Job Description:
Need a hands-on business-focused technology manager to lead Client Master MDM solution and a small team that covers institutional and wealth management channels and manages data about organizations and associated contacts. The ideal candidate will have functional knowledge in Master Data Management as well as Asset/Wealth Management distribution. You will learn new technologies, working on constantly upgrading your skill set and the products you work on to be at-par with the best in the industry. You will innovate and solve technical challenges in an effective manner that emphasizes a long-term vision.
You will design and deliver solutions for wealth management and Institutional asset management business initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Deep knowledge of Master Data Management (MDM) principles, end-to-end processes, architectures, protocols, patterns, and technologies. Must have hands-on operational experience working with data stewards and product owner.
10+ years relevant experience.
Responsible for analyzing Master Data and identifying trends and patterns that can be used to improve business process and decision-making.
Must have hands-on experience using other MDM tools like Informatica and the data rules, etc. that are embedded within those tools for data merging, cleansing, and enrichment.
Must be comfortable using SQL, which will likely be needed, on a daily basis.
Ideally, should understand Mutual Fund distribution and Asset Management, and be able to work with, and guide, business users in defining appropriate business rules for creating master data.
Provide expertise and guidance on MDM best practices and help organization implement MDM Solutions.
Extensive experience with market and reference data in the context of capital markets or investment management.
Leadership and team management experience with ability to provide strategic planning and oversight.
Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, data quality management and data governance principles is a big plus.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to negotiate and influence critical decisions and work collaboratively with product owner.
