L2 Field Network Technician

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Atlanta, GA that is seeking a L2 Field Network Technician. The focus of this role is network infrastructure reliability, escalation support, and data center operations excellence.

Responsibilities:
* Install, configure, and support network hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) in mission-critical data center environments
* Provide advanced (L2) troubleshooting of LAN/WAN connectivity issues and escalate unresolved faults
* Perform structured cabling tasks, including patching, labeling, and physical layer validation
* Monitor network performance and execute system upgrades within change control protocols
* Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, physical layouts, and maintenance logs
* Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure redundancy, capacity, and uptime targets are met
* Uphold data center security, compliance, and environmental standards during all network activities

REQUIREMENTS:
* Proficiency in realted networking technologies
* Routing and Switching: Expertise in configuring and troubleshooting routers and switches
* Ability to set up and manage firewalls to ensure network security
* Familiarity with tools used to monitor network performance and identify issues
* Ability to dissect complex network problems and develop effective solutions
* Ability to create clear and detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
