TalentFish is casting a line for a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer. This is a hybrid full-time position open to the following locations. Remote may be considered but is least desired.

• Baton Rouge, Louisiana
• Rosemont, Illinois
• Cedar Rapids or Des Moines, Iowa
• Remote (least desired).

Overview
Our premier client is growing! This is an exciting opportunity where you will be responsible for the design and implementation of Azure architecture, components, and environments.

The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be expected to have experience with managing a cloud environment. The Cloud Engineer will demonstrate knowledge of Cloud Architecture best practices, Cloud Security, and Cloud Infrastructure monitoring and tuning. Candidates should have solid experience in scripting/coding.
What You Bring to the Role. (Ideal Experience)

• 5-7+ years of experience as a Cloud Engineer.
• Strong current Azure experience (within last 12 months preferred).
• Experience designing Azure environments and resources.
• Experience creating templates to deploy Azure resources.
• Experience with Azure private endpoints.
• Experience documenting systems and configuration.
• Experience creating and maintaining PowerShell scripts for environment management.

Candidate should have mode of the following experience:

• Azure App Services - Management and Security:

• Web Apps.
• Function Apps.
• App Service Environments.
• App Service Plans.
• Key Vaults.
• Storage Accounts.
• Security Products for Web Apps - WAFs (Azure WAF and Cloudflare).

• SRE (Site Reliability Engineer) / DevOps mindset and experience
• Understands Infrastructure as Code / Configuration as Code and environment management via code pipelines.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Scripting and Coding
• Able to demonstrate scripting / IaC (Infrastructure as Code) experience.
• Use of IaC / scripting technologies such as Terraform and Bicep.
• Use of Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
• Proficient in utilizing Source Code Management (SCM) tools, coupled with a thorough understanding of GitFlow methodologies.
• Preferred experience deploying IaC code via a pipeline/tooling versus using the command line on local workstation (with YAML and AZ-CLI – the Azure Command Line interface).
• State Configuration Management (Windows, Linux a plus).

• PowerShell DSC (Desired State Configuration).
• Ansible/Chef/Puppet/etc. is a plus.
• MS Intune.

• Azure Compliance / Policy Management using one of the following approaches:

• Pipelines (YAML/AZ-CLI).
• IaC (BICEP/Terraform/etc.).
• ARM Templates.

• Azure Monitoring/Logging:

• Conceptual knowledge of observability platforms and experience in platform. Azure experience as listed below is preferred.
• Azure Monitor.
• Understand the data source ingestion for logs and metrics and the data tools in Azure Monitor.
• Analytics (Log & Metric Analytics).
• Insights (App Insights, Containers, etc.).
• Integration (Logic Apps, etc.).
• Response (Alerts, Autoscaling, etc.).
• Visualization (Dashboards, Power BI, etc.).
• Workspaces/Workbooks.
• Experience with Log Aggregation solutions (Splunk, AZ Sentinel, etc.).
• Use of Azure monitoring to aid infrastructure sizing and cost management.

• Azure Networking:

• Private Link Services.
• Private Endpoint Services.
• Network Security (Azure Firewall, Service Firewall, NSG, WAF).

• Azure Storage Solutions - Management and security:

• Azure Databases (Az-SQL, Cosmo DB, etc.) - Management and security.
• Storage Accounts (ADLSv2) - Management and security.
• Data Analytics Solutions (ADF, Synapse, etc.) - Management and security.

• Azure AD and Identity Management:

• Azure Active Directory (Azure AD).
• Conditional Access and access controls in AAD.
• Privileged Identity Management.
• Enterprise Apps/App Registrations.
• Modern Auth methods (SAML/OAuth 2.0/AADB2C).
• Graph API.
• Azure Backup for Azure Site Recovery.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
