Job Title: Business Analyst (Contract 100% Remote)

Location: 100% Remote (Must work CST hours)
Duration: 12 months Contract
Schedule: Normal business hours, CST

Job Summary

The Business Analyst will be responsible for gathering, interpreting, and documenting customer business needs to translate them into application, operational, and functional requirements. This individual serves as a key liaison between internal business units, software development teams, and external vendors to ensure the successful delivery of projects aligned with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Elicit and clarify business, market, and project requirements through interviews, workshops, and document analysis.
• Analyze existing business processes, identify gaps, and develop measurable and sustainable process improvements.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, use cases, and test cases.
• Collaborate with project managers, software developers, QA testers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
• Facilitate the implementation of requirements and ensure alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation including business process maps, user stories, and technical requirements.
• Drive the design and review of test cases to validate solutions against requirements.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and budget constraints.
• Identify and report potential issues or risks that could impact project delivery.
• Serve as a subject matter expert for business analysis best practices within the organization.
• Demonstrate strong business acumen and leadership in decision-making.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends, tools, and methodologies in business analysis.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in business and technical analysis.
• Demonstrated experience working on project-based business analyst roles (preferably 2+ years).
• Proven technical writing and documentation skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-discipline and accountability.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in both business and IT environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or
• CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analysis)
• Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience in the energy or utilities sector (a plus).
• Exposure to Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

Work Environment & Expectations

• This is a fully remote contract role; candidates must have reliable connectivity and a professional workspace.
• Must be available during standard CST business hours for calls and meetings.
• May require occasional collaboration across time zones.
