Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal IT Programmer Analyst GIS to support the strategy and standardization of an Enterprise GIS platform. This role involves leading the design, integration, and support of geospatial solutions across multiple business units, enabling end-to-end geospatial workflows and content distribution. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience with Esri technologies and strong leadership capabilities in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, customize, and enhance new or existing systems aligned with business needs
  • Lead solution architecture for GIS implementations, ensuring performance, scalability, and security
  • Support DevOps processes for continuous integration and deployment
  • Engage in Agile methodologies and system development lifecycles
  • Provide technical troubleshooting and maintenance for GIS applications
  • Define metrics and monitor Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Participate in change and service ticket management, ensuring high customer satisfaction
  • Act as liaison with external agencies, vendors, and contractors on GIS-related systems
  • Drive process innovation and automation within GIS workflows
  • Conduct experimental application testing for new concepts
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years of experience as an IT Programmer Analyst with GIS
  • Hands-on experience with Esri Suite in hybrid environments
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Deep understanding of GIS best practices, system integration, and standardization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or related field
  • Proven experience in defining GIS roadmaps, standards, and enterprise strategy
  • Experience supporting business innovation and geospatial process improvements
  • Familiarity with Agile project environments and DevOps automation

Technical Skills:

  • Esri Geospatial Platform (ArcGIS, Portal, ArcGIS Server, etc.)
  • GIS application development and integration
  • DevOps practices and CI/CD pipeline support
  • System configuration and troubleshooting
  • Agile tools and software development methodologies
