Sr. Application Development Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide production support and troubleshoot issues related to imported/exported files, the user interface, data mismatches between the application and downstream systems.
• Write scripts using JavaScript to be executed in a MongoDB database.
• Write complex SQL queries to be executed in an Oracle database.
• Monitor the health of production servers and services using tools such as Dynatrace, Kafka, Splunk, and Kubernetes/Rancher.
• Utilize Control-M to manage jobs that have failed, are stuck, or need to be placed on hold.

Typical Day in the Role

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day production support, including troubleshooting issues related to file imports/exports, UI anomalies, and data inconsistencies between the application and downstream systems.
• Develop and execute JavaScript scripts within a MongoDB environment.
• Write and optimize complex SQL queries for Oracle databases.
• Monitor production system health using tools such as Dynatrace, Kafka, Splunk, and Kubernetes/Rancher.
• Manage and resolve job-related issues using Control-M, including handling failed, stuck, or on-hold jobs.
• Exhibit leadership potential and contribute to a collaborative team environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Required: A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, mathematics, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Preferred:
• Years of experience required: 5
• Disqualifiers: Not exhibiting future leadership potential.
• Additional qualities to look for:
• Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce clear, thorough documentation to support team knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
