RF Engineer - 5G C-RAN Integration Project
Location: Hybrid | Indianapolis, IN

Overview:
We're seeking a highly skilled RF Engineer with hands-on experience using the Atoll design platform to support a major 5G C-RAN integration initiative. This hybrid role combines remote design work with occasional field visits, making it ideal for someone who excels in both planning and execution phases of wireless network deployment.
Primary Duties and Accountabilities:
You'll lead the RF design and integration of new 5G cell sites using Atoll, ensuring optimal coverage, capacity, and performance. Responsibilities include generating propagation models, configuring remote radio heads (RRHs), validating fiber connectivity, and coordinating with centralized RAN controllers. You'll also conduct RF sweeps, troubleshoot interference issues, and ensure all KPIs are met during site turn-up.
Your Atoll expertise will be central to creating accurate simulations, optimizing antenna placements, and supporting automatic cell planning. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to document integration procedures and contribute to continuous improvement efforts across the deployment lifecycle.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Atoll RF planning software for 5G network design
- 3+ years of experience in RF engineering, preferably in a telecom field environment
- Strong understanding of LTE/5G KPIs, antenna systems, and fiber optics
- Experience with RF testing tools (e.g., Anritsu, PIM testers)
- Ability to interpret RF design documents and troubleshoot site-level issues
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Willingness to travel to cell sites across the region as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile)
- Familiarity with OSS systems and remote integration platforms
- Certifications in RF safety or related telecom standards
