About the Role:
We are seeking a Policy expert with experience in content, editorial, and trust and safety to lead the development, refinement and operationalization of content policies in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment. This role sits at the intersection of policy development, industry benchmarking, content moderation, trust and safety, content quality understanding, editorial decision-making and user trust. The goal is to deliver accurate, high-quality and safe news content while protecting platform integrity and the preferences of today s diverse user base including Gen Z audience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of content policy development, incorporating editorial judgment and journalistic-style rigor to ensure the creation of strong safe policies that reflect Gen Z values, digital experiences, and sensitivities while maintaining clarity and enforceability.
- Identify and evaluate emerging trends, behaviors and risks across digital platforms and translate insights into actionable Policy frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure Policy guidance is clear, enforceable and aligned with platform needs and goals.
- Conduct regular audits of existing policies to identify gaps, outdated guidance or areas requiring clarification or reinforcement.
- Contribute to external benchmarking and stakeholder discussions on content safety and Policy best practices
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in journalism, editorial strategy, publisher, user and AI-generated long and short form content policy, trust & safety preferably in social media, news, search, or platform environments.
- Proven track record in leading editorial decisions and shaping content policy frameworks in high-risk, fast-paced settings.
- Strong understanding of Gen Z digital culture (language, content formats, and online behaviors) is a plus but not mandatory.
- Deep knowledge of misinformation risks and content integrity principles.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex, ambiguous risks into clear, actionable guidelines.
- Ability to operate independently and decisively while balancing speed with accuracy.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional partners to align editorial and policy work with organizational goals.
- Thrives in working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving priorities and tight timelines.
