The Opportunity

Platform Product is a team of exceptional product managers and designers who define, drive, and align product direction for Netflix's cloud infrastructure, developer, and data platforms. Our primary mission is to provide a platform that enables the business to scale effectively and efficiently, accelerating the productivity of Netflix engineers, data scientists, and machine learning practitioners. We prioritize the most impactful opportunities by deeply understanding and synthesizing business & customer needs, data & insights, and industry trends into long-term product vision & strategy with roadmaps and experience design.

To further our mission, we're seeking a Staff Product Designer. We're looking for a highly ambitious, energetic, and experienced staff-level Product Designer who will enable a best-in-class experience for technical talent at Netflix. You'll collaborate closely with product designers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to unpack user needs, inform strategy, and design innovative solutions for unique problems faced by technical talent at Netflix.

What You Will Do

  • Leads design for one or more large and complex product domains.
  • Assess complex workflows and create simple, intuitive, and scalable product experiences that improve our ability to support the needs of Netflix's technical talent.
  • Scopes design work and negotiates with product and engineering partners to align around milestones and deliverables that are realistic and feasible.
  • Articulates design vision, approach, and status to cross-functional partners and leads through presenting prototyping and design specs.
  • Builds scalable and foundational practices in the design team.
  • Collaborates successfully with product managers, technical program managers, product designers, and engineering teams.
  • Communicates effectively with senior leadership.


What We're Looking For

  • Passionate about great design and amplifying our team culture.
  • 8+ years as a Product Designer (or equivalent experience) in the B2B space, leading high-impact initiatives from concept to execution.
  • Inspires and aligns the cross-functional team with a design vision, communicating and understanding the sequencing of getting to that ultimate vision.
  • Works autonomously and collaborates well with leads and peers on the design and UX vision, informs roadmap and strategy, and executes implementing designs and systems with cross-functional partners such as engineering, research, and PM.
  • Experience building, contributing to, and consuming component-based design systems.
  • Fluency in core product design and prototyping tools (Figma, Origami, or other)
  • Able to collaborate with engineers through implementation and beyond (not necessary to know code)
  • Excellent communication skills that excite stakeholders and articulate a vision.
  • A willingness to fail and learn. Earnest, mature, and ego-free. You welcome candid feedback and can constructively give it as well.

  • Experience working with complex internal tooling targeting technical talent.
  • Experience with products around Developer, Data, and Cloud Infrastructure.


Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $500,000 - $750,000.
