Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our team in Houston, Texas. This is a long-term contract position that requires on-site presence five days a week. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with F5 technologies, ensuring the smooth operation, optimization, and security of network systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and maintain F5 BIG-IP infrastructure, including modules such as LTM, DNS, and others.
Develop and optimize traffic policies, iRules, and iApps to meet complex load balancing and security requirements.
Troubleshoot network and application delivery issues to ensure high availability and performance.
Collaborate with development teams to integrate F5 systems seamlessly with application architectures.
Automate F5 configurations using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies.
Manage certificates, offloading, and SSL/TLS configurations within F5 environments.
Monitor and analyze network health using tools like Splunk, SolarWinds, or native F5 analytics.
Perform regular updates, patches, and backups for F5 platforms.
Mentor team members with less experience and provide advanced technical support for network-related challenges.
Participate in architectural planning for cloud and containerized solutions involving F5 technologies.
Requirements
At least 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a minimum of 5 years focused on F5 systems.
Expertise in F5 BIG-IP modules such as LTM and DNS.
Strong understanding of network protocols, including Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) and other routing technologies.
Proven experience with Cisco ASA, routers, and related Cisco technologies.
Familiarity with automation tools like Ansible and Terraform.
Knowledge of datacenter operations and backup technologies.
Ability to troubleshoot and configure complex network systems.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
