SAP MDG Lead Consultant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) Lead Consultant to serve as the primary advisor for SAP MDG implementations. This role focuses on multiple master data domains including Business Partner, Customer, Vendor, Financial Objects, and Material. You will lead the configuration and customization of SAP MDG components, ensuring solutions align with industry best practices and client-specific needs.

As a client-facing leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior client stakeholders to deliver architectural solutions, manage project delivery, and ensure consistent alignment with business goals. The role involves overseeing both onsite and offshore delivery teams to guarantee quality and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead SAP MDG implementations across various master data domains (BP, Customer, Vendor, Financial Objects, Material).

  • Design and configure MDG data models, UI elements, validations, derivations, and rule-based workflows using BRF+.

  • Manage master data replication and integration using ALE/IDoc, key and value mapping, and data conversion techniques.

  • Drive master data export/import activities and ensure high-quality data migration strategies.

  • Present architecture decisions, implementation progress, and strategic updates to senior client stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective delivery across global teams, adhering to timelines, budget, and quality standards.

  • Provide advisory and hands-on support in integrating SAP MDG with other tools such as SAP Data Services (BODS) and SAP Information Steward.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years of techno-functional experience in SAP Data Management, including:

  • SAP Master Data Governance (MDG)

  • SAP Data Services (BODS)

  • SAP Information Steward

  • 7+ years in client-facing consulting roles with delivery management experience in an onsite/offshore model.

  • Proven expertise in:

  • MDG configuration for multiple master data domains

  • BRF+ for validations and workflow logic

  • UI design and process modeling

  • Duplicate checks, derivations, and governance logic

  • Strong knowledge of:

  • Replication frameworks and data distribution via ALE/IDoc

  • Key and value mapping

  • Master data conversion and data quality principles

  • Familiarity with broader SAP ecosystems such as:

  • NetWeaver, XI/PI, Tibco (nice to have)

  • ABAP knowledge (preferred)
