Quality Assurance/Business Analyst
Overview
We are seeking a versatile QA/BA Analyst to join a dynamic team and support both quality assurance and business analysis efforts. This individual will play a dual role leading manual testing efforts while also collaborating closely with business stakeholders to gather requirements, coordinate testing cycles, and manage documentation.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and an excellent communicator. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys bridging technical and business teams and wants to make an impact in both process and product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance
- Execute manual testing for web and/or internal applications.
- Develop and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test data.
- Log and track defects, performing follow-ups with technical teams.
- Coordinate UAT testing efforts, working closely with business users.
- Assist in compiling and organizing SOX-related testing documentation (SOX expertise not required).
Business Analysis
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business and functional requirements.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
- Translate business needs into testing goals, plans, and test scenarios.
- Participate in planning meetings, requirement reviews, and process improvement initiatives.
Documentation & Coordination
- Maintain test plans, results, and requirement traceability.
- Organize meeting notes, decisions, and deliverables in shared repositories.
- Create and manage project trackers and reports using Excel and Word.
Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years in a QA, BA, or hybrid QA/BA role.
- Strong manual testing experience (automation is a plus, but not required).
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (pivot tables, formatting, reporting).
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills able to work effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple moving pieces.
- Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), Agile and/or Waterfall environments.
- Project coordination experience is a plus.
- Basic technical familiarity (reading logs, understanding error messages, or navigating databases) is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Experience in a regulated or SOX-compliant environment.
- Exposure to requirements management or test case tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail).
- Light technical knowledge comfortable working with developers or interpreting system behavior.
