For candidates with current or prior experience with the State of Wisconsin experience and all required skills outlined in the job posting, we offer up to 98.5% of the client bill rate on CTC basis, ensuring a very low margin (under $1). This position is currently remote. However, position status is subject to change. Hybrid/On Site positions: Local candidates or willing to relocate at the candidate's expense. No designated work-space will be assigned however, selected candidate must be available to work at our location as needed. DCF work location is 201 W. Washington Ave., Madison, WI 53703. DCF does not pay for travel time or reimburse for travel expenses.

This recruitment is seeking an experienced ETL developer to work within the Enterprise section. The incumbent will be responsible for ETL design, development, testing, maintenance, metadata and implementation of data warehouse initiatives.

This developer must understand user requirements and be able to implement solutions that ensure requirements can be achieved through high-quality deliverables that support critical work to the organization. This will require working closely with other technical teams as well as program area partners in a collaborative manner. This person will work with minimal supervision and latitude for independent judgement. They should have strong communication, organization, and leadership skills, be willing and able to assist peers, and demonstrate ability to mentor users who are less familiar with the system. Being a team player is a key skill for this role.

This person will develop ETL mapping specifications for loading information into the data warehouse and for ensuring reliability of information loaded. They will seek continuous improvement in performance and tuning of data warehouse processes and will work with the team to ensure warehouse data remains secure and all DCF security standards are followed. This developer will monitor technological advancements to ensure that solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and organizational standards.

Key responsibilities of the data warehouse developer include:

  • Establishing and/or implementing data warehouse best practice standards, in collaboration with other Enterprise units or BITS teams.
  • Demonstrate and leverage excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working with relational and dimensional data models and slowly changing dimensions
  • Providing strong data management and data analysis using SQL
  • Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication, including facilitation of meetings and requirements gathering with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Showing effective interpersonal relationship management and the ability to collaborate with others and work as part of a team, as well as being able to communicate at many levels of the organization.
  • Managing and tracking tasks to ensure on-time delivery of critical data warehouse or reporting products through excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently, assume responsibility for the timeliness and quality of work, research and resolve questions and problems individually or as part of the team.

Required Skills:

  • Strong skills in data warehousing process design, development, performance & tuning using the Informatica data warehousing tool suite.
  • Demonstrated skills in understanding and implementing data warehouse architecture, including programming in relational database technologies (e.g., Oracle, DB2, SQL Server)
  • Clear knowledge of data integration strategies and solutions
  • Exceptional experience building and supporting Collection-focused business intelligence products and experience with the State of Wisconsin referral/investigation lifecycle and claims processing is required.
