Role: Hardware Engineer
Location: 5 days a week onsite in Brooklyn Park, MN
Duration: Contract until September 2026
Position Overview: We are seeking a Hardware Engineer focusing on CAD design review and infrastructure deployment support. In this role, you will conduct CAD design reviews, address discrepancies, track resolutions through completion, and provide device counts to project managers for deployment planning. Additionally, you will support deployments by actively monitoring deployment health, identifying and triaging issues, and coordinating resolution.
Responsibilities:
? Conduct CAD design reviews for low voltage, electrical, and fixture plans to ensure alignment with design criteria and internal standards.
? Identify design gaps, discrepancies, or conflicts and work with supporting teams and vendors to resolve issues and track them through completion.
? Populate and maintain accurate device counts to enable project managers to plan and forecast deployment needs.
? Support infrastructure deployments by monitoring deployment status, identifying issues in real time, and providing triage and escalation support.
? Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, deployment, and vendor partners to ensure on-time, high-quality project delivery.
? Maintain detailed documentation of design review outcomes, issue logs, and resolution timelines.
? Contribute to continuous improvement of design review and deployment support processes.
Required Skills:
? 5?10 years of experience in field engineering, infrastructure deployment support, or related hardware/technical roles.
? Proficiency in reading and interpreting low voltage, electrical, and fixture plans.
? Experience conducting CAD-based design reviews for infrastructure or technology deployments.
? Strong understanding of low voltage infrastructure, structured cabling standards, and hardware placement requirements.
? Proven ability to track, document, and close out design or deployment issues.
? Solid communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
? Experience supporting multi-site deployment programs or pilot initiatives.
Preferred Skills:
? Familiarity with retail technology hardware (POS, networking, IoT devices, kiosks).
? Understanding of construction and renovation project workflows.
? Experience with CAD tools and mark-up processes.
? Knowledge of power distribution and electrical planning for technology systems.
? Exposure to hardware validation or pilot testing processes.
