Title: Technical Advisor - Architect Level
Location: Tallahassee, FL - 100% Remote
Duration: 18+ Months Job Summary:
General Experience Expectations:
A minimum of five (5) years of IT work experience with demonstrated knowledge in architecture design, software development, database management systems, and systems integration in multi-platform environments.
The customer is seeking the services of an experienced Internet/Web Architect.
Scope of Work/Job Characteristics:
The Internet/Web Architect will serve as the principal line of communication for the project team. The duties and responsibilities of this position are as follows:
- Responsible for gathering business requirements and translating them into Internet/Web architecture to achieve business objectives.
- Analyzes assigned specifications, planning, designing, and developing solutions, utilizing appropriate Internet/Intranet/Extranet architecture processes that support a wide range of content, either individually or in collaboration with project team members.
- Provides necessary documentation for object design decisions, estimating assumptions, applets, and performance metrics, as required by organizational architecture process standards or as assigned; and
- Responsible for minimizing issues between client and server applications and for the overall setup and design of the Internet and Web server architecture.
NOTE: The impact and complexity of this job increase if the organization is utilizing Internet solutions (as opposed to only Intranet), particularly those with significant business impact (e.g., e-business).
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree or master's degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems, or another related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience, is required. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis when applicable.
The department requires the following experience, skills, and knowledge for this position:
- Experience working on multiple projects as a project leader or frequently as the subject matter expert.
- Experience working on projects/issues of medium to high complexity that require demonstrated knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments; and
- Experience with coaching and mentoring more junior technical staff.
NOTE: In addition to the above list, the selected candidates must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.
Preferred Qualifications:
The department prefers the candidate to have the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:
- Proven experience leading large-scale digital transformation or modernization initiatives involving legacy system replacement
- Experience designing solutions in hybrid environments (on-premise, cloud, and integrating Software as a Service/Commercial off the Shelf [SaaS/COTS]) ;
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies.
- Strong experience in Waterfall project management.
- Expertise in web technologies such as JavaScript (React, Angular, Vue), HTML/CSS (HyperText Markup Language/Cascading Style Sheets), REST Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Node.js, .NET, or Java;
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Azure, or Google Cloud and their architecture patterns.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, databases, and system interoperability;
- Ability to develop scalable, secure, and maintainable web architectures across diverse technology stacks
- Experience creating target state architecture diagrams, transition roadmaps, and system interface designs
- Ability to evaluate and integrate SaaS/COTS solutions into enterprise ecosystems.
- Experience with application rationalization and technical debt reduction strategies.
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, Quality Assurance (QA), business analysts, and product owners
- Experience in mentoring development teams and ensuring architectural consistency across projects.
- Capable of presenting architectural decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders; and
- Strong vendor management experience, including assessing the technical fit of third-party solutions.
