Position: UI/UX Manager
Reports to: Executive Director of Product Management
Position Summary
The UI/UX Manager is responsible for ensuring product usability; shaping the look, feel, and usability of our SaaS platform and mobile applications. This role blends hands-on design work with strategic leadership to ensure our products are intuitive, accessible, and visually consistent. You will lead the design vision as part of an empowered team; partnering with Product Managers and Engineering Technical Leads to solve complex user problems and ensure every feature we release aligns with our product vision, strategy, and company mission. Partners with product marketing in creation of promotional and sales enablement tools.
Summary of Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Vision
Define and own the UI/UX strategy that aligns with company and product goals
Maintain and evolve a design system for consistent and scalable UI patterns
Champion accessibility, usability, and responsive design best practices
Discovery & Research
Partner with Product Managers to conduct customer discovery
Map end-to-end user journeys to uncover pain points and opportunities
Analyze and translate findings into clear, actionable design requirements
Design Execution
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using tools like Figma for new designs and refinement of existing web-based and mobile interfaces, ensuring a user-friendly and visually appealing experience
Validate designs through usability testing and feedback loops
Collaborate closely with engineering to ensure accurate design implementation
Team & Process Development
Establish UI/UX best practices across design and development
Mentor and guide junior designers or contractors (as team grows)
Help embed design thinking into cross-functional team culture
Qualifications/Experience
5+ years of UI/UX design experience, with at least 1 2 years in a leadership role
Proven track record designing for SaaS B2B applications (web + mobile)
Expertise in modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite)
Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design
Experience collaborating in agile product development environments
Excellent communication skills to influence stakeholders and advocate for design
Skills
Experience building a design function from the ground up in a small company
Familiarity with HTML/CSS for effective engineering collaboration
Knowledge of compliance-heavy or enterprise-scale product environments
