Director of Program Management

A growing organization in the healthcare and life sciences space is seeking a seasoned Program Management leader to establish and scale its Project Management Office (PMO). This high-impact role will report directly to executive leadership and collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders across departments and external partners.

Role Summary

The VP/Director of Program Management will be responsible for building a high-performing PMO, overseeing the delivery of complex, multi-channel initiatives, and driving operational excellence across the organization. This leader will bring a strong technical foundation, a consultative mindset, and a passion for building scalable systems and teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • PMO Leadership: Build and lead a centralized PMO, starting with a small team and scaling based on organizational needs.
  • Program Delivery: Oversee full lifecycle delivery of integrated programs across digital and print channels, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Technical Collaboration: Partner closely with engineering, product, and design teams to ensure seamless execution of technical projects.
  • Tool Governance: Serve as the enterprise lead for project management platforms, driving adoption, standardization, and automation across departments.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership and external partners, presenting program health, risks, and opportunities with clarity and confidence.
  • Financial Oversight: Manage program budgets and resource planning to ensure profitability and mitigate delivery risks.


Requirements

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience in a fast-paced agency or consulting environment, managing multiple client engagements and delivery cycles.
  • Strong technical background, ideally having started in software development before transitioning into program leadership.
  • Proven success in building and scaling PMO functions, mentoring project managers, and implementing enterprise-level tools.
  • Familiarity with regulated industries such as healthcare or life sciences is a plus.
  • Comfortable interfacing with executive stakeholders and presenting strategic insights in high-stakes environments.
