Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to develop and optimize production-grade CNC programs for multi-axis machining operations. This role ensures programs are robust, operator-friendly, and incorporate advanced crash prevention strategies. The CNC Programmer will support tooling, setup sheets, and part prove-out processes, ensuring precision, efficiency, and safety across all machining operations.

Key Responsibilities:
* Program Development: Create and validate CNC programs for horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, and 5-axis machines (Okuma, Makino platforms). Utilize CAM software including Esprit (Legacy Series 20/Edge) for programming complex parts. Implement engineering controls such as probing routines, tool breakage detection, and offset management to minimize operator intervention and reduce crash risk. Develop programs that include locked offsets and standardized parameters to maintain consistency and quality.
* Crash Reduction & Safety: Integrate crash prevention strategies, including safe start positions, toolpath verification, and probing cycles. Apply best practices for machine protection and error-proofing during programming. Use Vericut and CAS (Collision Avoidance System) software packages for simulation and verification prior to production.
* Setup & Documentation: Prepare detailed setup sheets and tooling lists for operators. Support tool setup and ensure compatibility with machine configurations. Maintain accurate documentation for repeatability and compliance.
* Part Prove-Out: Conduct first-article prove-outs and verification using 5P methodology (Five-Axis Part Programming Verification). Collaborate with operators and quality teams to resolve issues during initial runs.
* Continuous Improvement: Optimize machining processes for cycle time reduction, tool life improvement, and quality enhancement. Stay current with CNC technology, tooling innovations, and programming software updates.

Core Qualifications
* 5+ years of CNC programming experience in production or precision manufacturing environment.
* Proficiency with CAM software Esprit Legacy Series 20/Edge.
* Strong knowledge of G-code and M-code for Okuma and Makino machines.
* Experience with horizontal and vertical mills, lathes, and 5-axis machining centers.
* Familiarity with Vericut and CAS software for collision detection and verification.
* Familiarity with probing systems, tool offset strategies, and crash prevention techniques.
* Understanding of GD&T and precision machining principles.
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, and quality teams.
* Excellent documentation and communication skills.
* U.S. citizenship required due to project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills
* Experience with advanced verification tools and simulation software.
* Background in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing.
* Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
