System Engineering and Integration Senior Manager - International Space Station

The Boeing Company is seeking a System Engineering and Integration Manager in Houston, TX to lead the integration of the System Engineering and Integration team supporting the International Space Station related to US On-orbit segment, ISS Development projects and Payloads.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a world-class systems engineering team and system engineering products to support design, development, integration, validation and verification of the International Space Station, keeping the orbiting vehicle sustained for the foreseeable future. You will be a leader of a high performance systems engineering team interacting with customers, suppliers, program management, integration and test engineers and senior technologists. The qualified candidate will lead and manage a team of system engineers deployed on this critical NASA program and perform following responsibilities:

Position Responsibilities:
  • System Engineering focal to the NASA ISS customer
  • Develop and manage program technical margins
  • Lead system level integration and test planning and execution, to include functional validation as well as formal sell-off of requirements
  • Provide leadership over planning, scheduling, risk management and opportunity capture activities
  • Collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure that system objectives are being met
  • Support new business development activities, including proposals, cost and schedule estimation

Management Duties Include:
  • Plan and manage program SE&I work scope (Cost, Schedule, Technical Quality)
  • Coach, counsel, mentor and provide developmental opportunities for employees
  • Perform employee performance management, hiring, retention, awards/recognition, and goal setting
  • Executes to program staffing, hiring, critical skills, and employee development plans
  • Supporting critical program staffing and redeployment activities, and identification of Systems Engineering strategic skills
  • Development and execution of a robust training and development plan
  • Development of employee engagement activities to motivate and engage the workforce

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Experience in engineering leadership (in lead or manager role)
  • Engineering experience involving system requirements, functional decomposition and allocation, integrated design, analysis and evaluation, verification, or operations of space/ground systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Experience working with NASA programs

Summary pay range: $155,550 - $210,450
