Title: PLC Controls Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Newton, NC (100% Onsite)
Description:
Relocation candidates can be considered; however, relocation expenses will be borne by the candidate.

Monday through Friday, 8-5 but can be slightly flexible with the exact hours.

Summary:
  • Provide 2nd level technical expertise in PLC controls-based troubleshooting and continuous improvement in support of new production line installation. Follow direction from a Sr Controls Engineer. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods. Independently execute project objectives to fulfill overall project goals and milestones.
Requirements:
  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in controls engineering/master's degree with limited experience (4 or 5 years) will be accepted.
  • PLC Programming is required. Must be proficient in developing, modifying, and troubleshooting industrial control programs.
  • Ability to perform through control panel verification and system checks.
  • Highly Preferred Programming: Strong expertise in Ladder Logic and extensive experience utilizing RS Logix platforms (e.g., RS Logix 500/5000, Studio 5000). Experience with Allen-Bradley hardware is a strong preference.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement, tune, and optimize PID loops and other closed-loop control strategies.
  • Knowledge of controls systems design, programming, and systems integration
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong written & oral communications skills
  • Actively participate in all phases of projects including design, fabrication, off-line integration and testing, installation, production start-up support, training of plant personnel and technology transfer.
  • Individual must be capable of executing project assignments, in a team-based environment, with minimal supervision
Education:
  • 3 additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of formal education (for a total of 10).
  • Minimum Requirement: An associate's degree in engineering or a related technical field, or 10 years of experience with a high school diploma, or 15 years of experience in lieu of any formal degree.
    Preferred: A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering is preferred, and candidates with a master's degree may be considered with fewer years of experience.
Experience:
  • 7+ Years working with PLCs, HMIs, drives, and safety systems and structured programming, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • There will be 2 round of interviews, 1st will be phone screening, and the second would be Technical screening via Teams
