Description

We are looking for an experienced AS400/RPG Developer to join our dynamic team in Lancaster, Texas. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in AS400/iSeries development to design, maintain, and enhance applications that meet business requirements. This is a long-term contract position that offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to impactful projects.

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain applications on the AS400 platform using RPG IV, CL, and DB2.
Analyze business requirements to create effective and efficient technical solutions.
Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation to ensure high-quality deliverables.
Support and enhance existing applications and interfaces for improved functionality.
Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and end-users to align technical solutions with business needs.
Monitor system performance and resolve technical issues to ensure smooth operations.
Participate in code reviews and uphold development standards and best practices.
Provide production support by troubleshooting and resolving application issues promptly.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in AS400/iSeries development using RPG IV.
Strong proficiency in CL programming and DB2/400 database management.
Experience working with service programs, modules, and procedures.
Familiarity with modern RPG techniques, including free-format and embedded SQL.
Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle and best practices.
Excellent problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.
Preferred experience with integration and web services on the AS400 platform.
Knowledge of modernization tools or strategies, such as web front-ends or APIs.
