Job Title: Java Developer Lead
Location: Vancouver, BC (Hybrid)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Java Developer Lead to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering secure, high-quality, and scalable applications using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture. This role requires strong hands-on development skills and leadership capabilities, with a focus on Agile delivery and collaboration.


Must-Have Qualifications:

  • 11+ years of professional experience in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices
  • Willingness to work on-site 3 days per week
  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field


Responsibilities:

  • Write modular, testable, and secure code with strong quality standards
  • Lead solution design and deployment of new technologies to improve services
  • Manage project deliverables, timelines, and development tasks independently
  • Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including scrums, story pointing, and retrospectives
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to established development best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and contribute to team success


Preferred Experience:

  • Expertise in RESTful API design using JSON/SOAP
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming
  • Proficiency in Git, and CI/CD pipelines (preferably Jenkins)
  • Cloud-native development experience with platforms like PCF or AWS
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and lead by example
