: Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

 

General Overview
The Decision Support Administrator supports the user community in leveraging business intelligence (BI) tools to access, query, and analyze data for reporting needs. This role assists customers with OLAP tool usage, develops and optimizes queries, and generates actionable reports. Responsibilities include monitoring and improving query performance, designing and developing reports, creating user documentation, and ensuring secure and efficient operation of BI systems. The administrator also manages metadata, oversees production systems, and supports enterprise-wide upgrades of OLAP and reporting tools.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support users in applying BI and OLAP tools for data extraction, reporting, and analysis.
  • Collect, prepare, clean, and preprocess datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Conduct exploratory and statistical data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships.
  • Interpret analytical findings within the context of FloridaCommerce s goals to provide meaningful insights.
  • Develop, execute, and optimize SQL queries for efficiency and performance while ensuring data integrity.
  • Utilize Microsoft SQL Server, SSAS, Power BI, Excel, and Tableau for data modeling, analysis, and visualization.
  • Monitor and manage customer usage, batch queries, and front-end tool interoperability.
  • Maintain metadata coordination and provide production system support.
  • Participate as a team member on assigned projects, working independently under the guidance of senior staff or managers.

 

Qualifications

  • Associate s or Bachelor s Degree (or technical institute degree/certificate) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; OR equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of IT experience.
  • At least five (5) years of experience working with business intelligence tools and systems.
  • At least five (5) years of experience performing economic and/or statistical analysis.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft ecosystem tools (SQL Server, SSAS, Power BI, Excel).
  • Experience with Tableau for data visualization and reporting.
