Project Overview:
The Infrastructure Global Business Unit (GBU) is executing work across multiple business lines including Public Infrastructure, Renewables & Clean Power, and Heavy Civil. The successful candidate will serve as the Chief Cost Engineer in the Reston, VA office supporting the GBU's portfolio of projects, proposals, and prospects.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide technical leadership and guidance to promote consistency across projects, business lines, and customers in the Infrastructure GBU. You will apply policies and procedures to support cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting, internal audits/readiness reviews, change management, and trend programs. #LI-JL1
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership"

Major Responsibilities:
- Develops, interprets, and executes policies, procedures, objectives, and standards applicable to cost control and analysis activities
- Establishes operational objectives and work plans, and delegates responsibilities to subordinates
- Prepares, coordinates, and directs cost engineering presentations to Bechtel and client management
- Analyzes data to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges
- Supports organizational and administrative activities and initiatives
- Regularly interacts and partners with functional and senior management on matters concerning cost engineering functions
- Makes decisions based on business objectives and allocated resources
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field required
- Minimum 13-15 years of relevant work experience
- Current or previous Bechtel experience preferred
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrated experience in directing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, project setup, control, analysis, forecasting and internal audits/readiness reviews
- Demonstrated experience in change management, including trend program
- Demonstrated skill in management, supervisory, and personnel administrative functions
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, problem solving, and enabling decision-making
- Expert communication skills with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client
- Experience in preparing and reviewing Project Financial Status Reports
- Advanced skill in Ecosys, Hyperion, and Microsoft Office software applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
