Job Title: Senior Project Manager - Software Implementation (Hybrid)
Location: Downtown Chicago (Onsite 2 days per week)
Contract Duration: Through November (with potential for extension)
Our client, a well-known leader in the manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead a critical software implementation project. This is a high-impact, contract position requiring a seasoned professional who can confidently navigate complex initiatives and communicate effectively across technical and business teams.
This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite presence in downtown Chicago two days per week, and occasional travel to plant locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end execution of enterprise software implementation projects, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
- Manage project lifecycle activities using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Develop, track, and maintain project budgets, timelines, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Serve as a central point of coordination between technical teams and business stakeholders, facilitating strong communication and strategic alignment.
- Prepare and deliver clear, actionable executive-level updates and presentations.
- Ensure proper project governance, stakeholder engagement, and change management throughout the project.
- Travel to manufacturing plants or distributed sites for key project events or coordination efforts.
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience managing software implementation projects in complex environments.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to collaborate closely with IT teams.
- Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Experience in developing and managing budgets for large-scale projects.
- Excellent communication skills and demonstrated executive presence.
- Proven ability to translate between business and technical audiences.
- Active PMP certification is required.
- Must be able to work onsite in downtown Chicago two days per week.
- Willingness to travel to manufacturing or operational sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience managing projects in manufacturing environments, including plants, warehouses, or multi-site operations.
