Job Title: SAP PP/DS Consultant
Location: Primarily Remote, with up to 20% travel (likely Nashville, TN or Sidney, OH)
Start Date: October 6 (sooner if available)
Duration: Through February 16, with possibility of extension
Workload: Full-time (~40 hours/week)
About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturer of composite structures for defense and industrial applications, is seeking an experienced SAP PP/DS Consultant to help replace their legacy production scheduling system with SAP S/4HANA PP/DS. The role focuses on enabling optimized production planning and scheduling for ~30 extruder lines producing plastics products, ensuring seamless integration with business processes, and driving adoption among key planners.
Key Responsibilities
Align production processes and master data with operational reality, including resources, capacities, setup times, and alternative resource planning.
Define, document, and configure Embedded PP/DS business process flows, covering MRP Live integration, detailed scheduling, setup optimization, and capacity leveling.
Install and optimize LiveCache and SCM Optimizer, ensuring smooth integration with S/4HANA.
Configure Core Interface (CIF), including system connections, master and transactional data loads, and queue monitoring.
Enable PP/DS planning heuristics and strategies, including graphical planning board, setup optimization, alternative line planning, and safety stock methods.
Support co-product planning, downtime management, and continuous production scenarios.
Configure reporting and monitoring tools, including PP/DS Planning Board, Line Status, and Production Schedule Reports; develop additional reporting as needed.
Deliver training, documentation, and change management to ensure adoption by planners and key users.
Requirements / Qualifications
Proven experience with SAP S/4HANA PP/DS implementation and configuration.
Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, setup optimization, and capacity leveling.
Experience with master data alignment, CIF configuration, and system integration.
Ability to deliver training, documentation, and change management.
Excellent communication skills, with ability to collaborate with global and local teams.
Willingness to travel up to 20% for onsite visits.
