Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Linux Administrator to lead the containerization effort for Datacenter services at a prominent transnational rail network company. This role involves operational support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and expansion of Linux environments. The ideal candidate will provide direction and advice on capacity planning, future installations, design, and automation of Linux environments. This full-time position requires participation in an on-call rotation and is pivotal in supporting the company s extensive IT infrastructure across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will provide direction and advice on capacity planning, future installations, design, and automation of Linux environments. Responsibilities:
- Lead operational support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and expansion of Linux environments.
- Direct and advise on capacity planning and future installations to enhance system efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the architecture group to support design and validation of new installations.
- Manage configuration using tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, Chef, and Desired State Configuration (DSC).
- Utilize knowledge of containerization platforms including Docker and OpenShift for project execution.
- Develop scripts in languages like PowerShell, bash, and python to automate tasks and streamline processes.
- Provide expert guidance on virtualization technologies using VMware, Nutanix, and Hyper V.
- Advise on the design and configuration of converged infrastructure and cluster management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in infrastructure management, with a focus on Linux environments.
- 1 to 3 years of experience managing virtual infrastructure.
- Proficient in configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, or Chef.
- Strong experience with containerization platforms like Docker and OpenShift.
- Advanced scripting skills in PowerShell, bash, or python.
- Knowledge of storage technologies including Dell/EMC and Netapp, and familiarity with replication technologies.
- Experience with networking technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing protocols, and switching.
- Strong communication skills, capable of documenting environments and creating detailed runbooks.
