Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Lead OpenTelemetry Developer to join our innovative and fast-paced team . You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing observability solutions using OpenTelemetry, ensuring robust monitoring, traceability, and logging for large-scale enterprise applications in the Insurance domain.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you ll collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence software quality, system performance, and product reliability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain OpenTelemetry-based instrumentation and observability tools.

  • Enable telemetry data collection (logs, metrics, traces) from distributed systems.

  • Collaborate across teams to define and implement monitoring best practices.

  • Document standards, publish best practices, and promote knowledge sharing.

  • Work closely with architects and developers to integrate telemetry in all stages of development.

Must-Have Skills:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience.

  • Strong experience with OpenTelemetry and observability principles.

  • Proficient in at least one supported programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, .NET).

  • In-depth experience in Java instrumentation:

    • JVM internals, bytecode manipulation, Java agents

  • Experience with observability tools like:

    • Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Honeycomb, CloudWatch, Azure Monitor

  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for documentation and teaching others.

Nice-to-Have:

  • Contributions to OpenTelemetry projects or observability communities

  • Prior experience in Insurance or FinTech domain

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, cloud-native environments, and microservices monitoring
