This Staff Software Engineer would be part of our Business Technology Platforms group, which is responsible for the products and platforms that support Disney's corporate business functions, and our enterprise service management platforms (Appian, Salesforce, & ServiceNow). This individual will be responsible for translating requirements and user stories into functional software that delivers value to the business. They will help design, develop, test, and implement complex software for use across Disney. We are seeking someone with a deep understanding of the ServiceNow platform to ensure that we are building the best products to improve what makes us great.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of platform projects and related agile delivery teams, where a project comprises of multiple components
  • Own the development of medium-to-large innovative software solutions that meet specifications and impact future development
  • Conceive, set the technical architectural direction, design, and develop specifications for software development projects
  • Review, test, and debug software to improve viability
  • Lead the full lifecycle of projects, potentially including project budgets and forecasts
  • Serve as an escalation point for difficult problems and sophisticated inquiries for the team
  • Act as a peer group leader to help train staff on Software Engineering standards and processes

Needed Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience developing solutions within ServiceNow, Service Portals, and Employee Service Center
  • Validated experience developing, creating, and testing server side with: JavaScript, Unix Shell, PowerShell
  • Demonstrated success in platform automation, workflows, abstraction APIs, and Scripted Rest API Framework
  • Knowledge of ITIL v3 or later and ITSM standard methodologies
  • Experience working in an outsourced IT environment and building strong collaborative vendor relationships
  • Experience implementing agile software development methodologies (PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, ICP-ACC, etc.) and leading the full software development lifecycle
  • Effective communication, writing, and executive presentation skills- with an ability to translate sophisticated ideas into understandable strategies, requirements, value statements, and business outcomes
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in a related field
  • Related Certifications (ITIL, technical, Agile, etc.)
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Appian
  • Supporting ServiceNow & Employee Service Center over a worldwide userbase

The hiring range for this position in Burbank is $149,240 to $200,200 per year and in Seattle is $156,262 to $209,660 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
