IT Manager

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on IT Manager to lead and support our company's technology infrastructure. This individual will manage a small internal IT team including a help desk technician and a software developer while actively contributing to systems administration, network security, and software development. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a technical expert, capable of maintaining high availability of IT systems and aligning technology solutions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities
IT Operations Management
- Lead and support a small IT team ensuring fast, effective technical support.
- Oversee day-to-day IT operations, ensuring system uptime and issue resolution.
- Maintain Veeam backup systems (onsite and offsite) and verify successful daily backups.
- Track and report IT performance metrics.
Network and Infrastructure
- Manage IT infrastructure including servers, storage arrays, networks, and firewalls.
- Administer VMware virtual servers, SANs, domain controllers, and backup infrastructure.
- Configure and maintain SonicWall firewalls, VLANs, switches, and IP-based systems.
- Maintain physical systems such as security cameras, alarm systems, phones, and desktops.
- Conduct audits and maintain disaster recovery readiness.
Software and Hardware Management
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and licensing of all hardware/software assets.
- Utilize Visual Studio with C#, VB.NET, and ASP.NET to develop or modify applications.
- Recommend tools and systems that improve operations and productivity.
Cybersecurity
- Maintain and improve IT security policies, endpoint protection, and firewall configurations.
- Conduct vulnerability scans and security awareness training.
- Manage and monitor CrowdStrike EDR/AV platform.
SAP / ERP Management
- Support and maintain SAP ECC 6.0 and related business-critical ERP systems.
- Troubleshoot SAP errors and custom integrations written in VB and SQL.
- Work with department leads to optimize ERP functionality and train users.
IT Strategy & Planning
- Partner with the IT Director to develop IT roadmaps aligned with business goals.
- Prioritize and manage IT projects to meet deadlines and budget targets.
- Research emerging technologies to improve business capabilities.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate IT contracts and SLAs.
Training & Documentation
- Develop training materials and conduct staff training sessions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, procedures, and policies.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical growth within the IT team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (required)
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing IT operations or leading teams
- Deep technical knowledge of systems, networks, and cybersecurity best practices
- Strong experience with VMware, Windows Server, Microsoft 365, and backup systems
- Hands-on coding experience with Visual Studio (C#/VB/ASP.NET) and SQL
- Experience with SAP or ERP system administration (SAP ECC preferred)
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Certifications such as CompTIA, ITIL, or CISSP (a plus)
