Description
SAIC is seeking a Part Time C5ISR Modernization Systems Engineer Principal to support our USCG program. This is a remote role in San Diego, CA.
Must be able to travel up 10% throughout the year.
JOB DUTIES:
- Provide system life cycle systems engineering support for our DoD customers.
- Serve as a Combat Readiness Assurance (CRA) technical advisor in support of C5ISR planning, testing, integration and sustainment support.
- Support will encompass a range of capabilities, from system sequencing, testing, installations, configuration management enforcement, system sustainment and upgrades, distance support, and emergent support as needed.
- This includes analysis and modifications to replace government off the shelf (GOTS) and commercial off the shelf (COTS) components that are end of life (EOL), modifications to support new interfaces to other systems, and modifications to existing systems driven by customer requirements.
- Provide troubleshooting assistance, either remotely or on site.
- Analyze failure data, trouble reports, and other USCG communications to identify current system deficiencies.
- Propose solutions, conduct peer reviews, and work with production engineers to implement solutions.
- Create and update engineering documentation and manage solutions through a formal configuration management process.
- Attend and participate in technical meetings, report on technical progress, prepare briefs, and provide presentations.
- Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT), Technical Working Group (TWG) and engineering/design review/meetings.
- Performs technical planning, high level and detailed requirements definition, test planning and execution (to include use cases, test procedures and test data), software systems integration, and technical support for software systems and subsystems.
Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree and nine (9) years or more experience; Masters and seven (7) years or more experience
- Must have an Active Secret Clearance to Start
- Ability to travel up to 10% throughout the year
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience with Coast Guard or Navy systems testing and shipboard systems integration and MIL-STD-2106.
