Position Overview
  • Overall Software engineering lead for Qualcomm's Mobile Handset line of products.
  • The individual will need to have a deep understanding of application processor, modem and connectivity technologies and complete SW stack, from firmware to apps layer,
  • The candidate will need to work with multiple teams from technology product management and Engineering and must have the ability to work across teams and build consensus.
  • Leads a team responsible for planning, execution and delivery of the commercial Chipset System Software for Qualcomm's Mobile products. (The Mobile Chipset System encompasses the AP/Modem Baseband processor, Transceivers, PMICs and RF Front-end components).
  • Responsible to ensure quality and on-time execution on a large roadmap portfolio with cross-geo teams, across a combination of new and legacy architectures.
  • Drives pathfinding and planning, leading to execution and delivery of new and innovative features on Qualcomm's Mobile products.
  • Partners closely with the Biz/Product team and Core technology teams to create a roadmap of Mobile software offerings.
  • Software Technical point of engagement for external parties including customers, partners.
  • Final point of escalation for all internal/external Software engineering issues pertaining to Mobile. Ultimately responsible for driving resolution of all Software issues on the chipset whether within a specific subsystem, or across subsystems, and chipset components.
  • Responsible for clearly communicating engineering status of the project to executives. Works in a highly matrixed environment. This role frequently requires working with others to fulfill job responsibilities without direct authority.

Minimum Requirements
  • Fifteen (15) or more years of related professional experience in technology and product management.
  • Six (6) years of leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering, or a related technical field of study.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Twenty (20) years of experience in software development/engineering including 15+ years within the Mobile domain
  • Ten (10) years in a senior leadership role leading large global software teams
  • Experience working in and scaling ecosystems, and teams, embedded platforms,
  • Experience working with operating system and/or software platforms with deep full stack understanding.
  • Ability to have technical depth and to approach deep/complex technology challenges with the appropriate structural approach.
  • Skilled at operating in a complex, cross-functional organization or company where your teams need to collaborate and integrate with other teams across many disciplines.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills and is articulate with both technical and business partners.Ability to create effective frameworks to aid discussion of complicated topics.
  • Deep understanding of key macro trends in the industry.

Pay range:
$278,500.00 - $417,500.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
