COBOL Developer / Legacy systems
One year contract
Must be local Atlanta, GA or Minneapolis, MN (No relocation candidates)

Qualifications:
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer with the following qualifications and skills:

• 6+ years of COBOL development experience on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Strong knowledge of COBOL programming.
• Experience with relational databases, preferably Oracle.
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments.
• Understanding of SOAP or REST APIs, including XML or JSON data interchange.
• Understanding of C programming is preferred.
• Exposure to cloud technologies such as AWS is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities:
The COBOL Developer will be responsible for the end-to-end software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of both business and technical solutions.

• Design, develop, test, and implement components of business and technical IT solutions.
• Participate in upgrades, enhancements, conversions, and standard implementations.
• Use tools to identify, analyze, and resolve technical and business issues.
• Apply specialized expertise in one or more of the following areas:
• Legacy systems
• Cross-functional integration
• Knowledge engineering
• Industry-specific solutions
• Interact directly with stakeholders to understand business requirements and technical contexts.
• Validate project scope, timelines, and deliverables for assigned tasks.
