Title: Repair Technician
Location: Lanham, MD 20706
Contract: W2 only, 6-month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI

Overview

This role involves repairing, upgrading, and programming MSI two-way radios. The technician will set up and operate test equipment, monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure equipment readiness for shipment. The position offers an opportunity to become fully trained and contribute to repair throughput and quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Repair, upgrade, and program MSI two-way radios
  • Set up, adjust, and operate test equipment according to procedures
  • Monitor equipment performance and conduct test runs
  • Document radio/device performance and validate results
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues using documented methods
  • Collect and report test data, including serial/model numbers and features
  • Clean equipment and ensure readiness for shipment

Required Skills

  • Associates Degree in EE/EET or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of RF and electronics theory
  • Knowledge of two-way radios and RF communications
  • Proficiency in Windows and Google Suite applications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation
  • Team-oriented work style

Preferred Skills

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Experience with cell phone repair
  • Laptop repair experience
  • Familiarity with MSI products
  • Networking and computer hardware skills
  • Software proficiency in Google Docs and Microsoft Excel
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field or an Associates Degree in EE/EET
  • Must understand RF and electronics theory
