Title: Linux Engineer
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Remote
Job Description:
- 7-12 years of experience supporting Open Source Linux (CentOS, Rocky, RHEL -free)
- Experience with Perl, Bash or other standard scripting languages
- Open minded/curious or experienced with automation via scripting (moving away for legacy mindsets around things not getting updated). Experience with Ansible is nice to have.
Primary Responsibilities:
Day to day support/administration and patching. They should have experience in deploying, configuring, and managing/supporting Linux-based systems in a business environment.
Coordination and Compatibility:
- They collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of fully tested and compatible devices that meet product requirements.
- Their guidance and support enable optimal usage of Linux technology.
Linux Instance Management:
- Linux engineers create, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux instances across multiple networks and architectures.
- They address issues reported by customers to ensure smooth operation.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A typical Linux engineer holds a bachelor s or master s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a related field.
- Strong scripting and computing skills are essential.
- Proficiency in programming languages and working with cloud systems is valuable.
- Certification: CompTIA Linux+ certification or other relevant Linux certifications is nice to have, but not required.
