Job Title: Business Systems Analyst I
Location: Partial Onsite - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday (and as needed) | Columbia, SC 29203
Work Schedule/Shift: Mon-Fri | Minimum 40 work hours per week.
Duration/Length of Assignment: 11 Month Contract to Hire
Pay Rate: $33.45 per hour
Additional Information: Must be a U.S. Citizen

Position Overview:
This position supports a major T5 initiative within the PMO/Business Support/PGBA Systems team. The team’s primary responsibility is capturing, defining, and translating business requirements into actionable specifications for development teams. The group consists of six experienced analysts who work closely together to support new functionality, system enhancements, and defect resolution across PGBA applications. Their role ensures customers’ needs are fully understood and documented so that IT teams can deliver accurate and effective solutions. The individual hired into this role will work directly with business partners to understand objectives and challenges, define system requirements, and support the implementation of solutions. They will be expected to analyze problems, document findings, and assist in guiding projects through testing and deployment phases. The position requires a balance of business and technical analysis skills, strong communication, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Required Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or 4 years of directly related work experience, or 2 years of related experience with an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum of 2 years of IT business analysis experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with Azure Boards for requirements tracking and project collaboration
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Adaptability to a fast-paced environment and strong analytical skills with the ability to learn quickly
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
- Knowledge of HIPAA standards and compliance
- Familiarity with LOMA certifications in insurance/financial services
- Experience using Microsoft Visio for process mapping and documentation
Day to Day/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate directly with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements, ensuring all business needs are accurately defined and documented
- Translate business objectives into system requirements that developers can utilize to design and implement solutions
- Use Microsoft Office to create requirement documents, business cases, and presentations that communicate findings clearly to both business and technical audiences
- Leverage Azure Boards to track, organize, and manage requirements, ensuring updates are visible to both technical teams and business stakeholders
- Conduct analysis of business processes and research solutions to identified problems, ensuring recommendations align with project goals and customer objectives
- Guide both business partners and technical teams in developing systems and functionality that address customer needs effectively
- Participate in validation activities by assisting with test plan creation, reviewing test matrices, and tracking issues in problem logs to ensure accurate deployment of solutions
- Document system enhancements, process improvements, and defect resolutions, supporting traceability from business request to technical implementation
- Communicate findings, progress, and risks to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, maintaining alignment between business expectations and IT deliverables
- Work independently in managing assigned tasks while contributing to team deliverables within the six-person PMO/Business Support/PGBA Systems group
