Job Title: Aws Cloud Infrastructure Manager

Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Contract Duration: 1 Year
Working Hours: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM (Flexible)

Job Description:

We are seeking a Cloud Operations Manager to oversee and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security across all environments.

In this role, you will lead a multidisciplinary team of Cloud Engineers, SREs, Network Engineers, and DBAs to design, deploy, and manage modern cloud environments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) automation.

The ideal candidate is a strategic technical leader with deep AWS expertise, proven operational excellence, and strong team management skills. You ll collaborate across departments working closely with Program Managers, Technology Leads, and Business Stakeholders to define and implement a sustainable and scalable cloud operating model.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute long-term cloud strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Build roadmaps for cloud migration, modernization, and innovation.
  • Partner with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure scalability and maintainability of production systems.

Technical Operations

  • Lead day-to-day cloud operations across AWS environments.
  • Ensure 24/7 system availability through proactive monitoring and incident management.
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation for consistent, automated deployments.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce enterprise security standards and ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, SOC2, and internal policies.
  • Identify and mitigate infrastructure vulnerabilities through regular risk assessments.

Optimization & Innovation

  • Monitor and analyze system performance to ensure low latency, high availability, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive cost optimization strategies across AWS environments.
  • Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend enhancements to improve reliability and performance.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of cloud professionals toward technical and operational excellence.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and accountability.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to align cloud operations with organizational goals.

Vendor & Partner Management

  • Manage relationships with AWS and third-party vendors to ensure optimal service delivery.
  • Negotiate and coordinate vendor solutions that enhance performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Experience:

  • Minimum 5+ years managing AWS environments and leading high-performing cloud operations teams.
  • Proven track record in designing and supporting enterprise-scale cloud infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

  • Deep understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.) and cloud architecture best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and monitoring.
  • Strong working knowledge of Jira and Excel (pivot tables, graphs, VLOOKUPs).

Certifications (Preferred):

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SysOps Administrator, or DevOps Engineer.
