Job Details

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Kforce client in Orlando, FL is seeking a SAN Engineer to join their team. This is a hybrid job opportunity.

Summary:
Candidates will work 1st shift (9am to 6pm) for several weeks for training. They will need to be onsite during this period no exceptions for 5 days a week while they learn from other team members. Once we deem them capable, they will move to the available 2nd shift position (5pm to 2am). At this point it will be 3 days onsite and 2 days remote remains in effect. The Manager is looking for someone who has 1-2 years of experience with SAN.

Responsibilities:
* Provide accurate and up to date system, site and project documentation
* Provide assistance and secondary support of complex systems
* Use monitoring tools, trouble-ticketing systems to coordinate and document scheduled and un-scheduled outages
* Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
* Optimize system operations and resource utilization
* Responsible for assisting with system design and implementations including design, architecture, disaster recovery procedures, provisioning, software installations and configurations for systems
* Gain granulated understanding of multiple critical system dataflow and identify points for improvement
* Aid in developing metrics that report on system status
* Ensure data compliance among critical infrastructure
* Suggest avenues for better efficiency by design, requirement, script, etc.
* Communicate with existing IT team to enhance end to end monitoring capability of health and status and dataflow

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Information Systems, Computer Science, Math, or Engineering) and 4+ years of related experience (working experience managing SAN systems) or 4+ years of additional related years of experience is accepted in lieu of a degree
* Understanding of basic Computer Networking Technology, TCP/IP, DNS, etc.
* Strong understanding of RAID and SAN concepts, including experience with Dell and HP SANs
* Desire and willingness to learn
* Understanding of Command Line Interfaces and be comfortable in their navigation
* Must work well in a team-oriented environment and work well independently and follow thru on assigned tasks
* Must work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
* Must have LINUX/UNIX and MS Windows storage experience
* Must have DAS, NAS, CIFS and NFS protocol experience
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Experience preparing and presenting technical briefings to engineers
* Ability to understand and connect with intended audience

Nice to Have:
* Able to perform system monitoring, incident analysis
* Able to perform normal system upgrades for both software and hardware, performance tuning and also perform scripting for normal procedure automation
* Able to provide support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers
* Able to document and develop accurate Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
