What We're Doing
Our most advanced radar systems are designed by our Integrated Warfare System and Solutions (IWSS) team and we are looking for highly talent individuals, like yourself, with a passion for RADAR and Electronic Warfare Technology. We provide surface, air, and undersea solutions, including radar/surveillance systems, undersea combat systems, and surface combat systems/sensors.
The Work
In this important role the Radar/Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Systems Engineer will:
- Apply advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop and integrate IFF system solutions
- Perform customer test/demonstration, functional analysis, design trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition.
- Develop models and detailed simulations to assess system performance.
- Perform integration and test, evaluate test results, investigate discrepancies, provide technical assessment of anomalies, and drive issues to resolution.
- Conduct system verification and support certification activities.
- Represent the organization on contracts and interface with internal and external customers, program and senior leadership, and multidisciplinary engineering teams on significant technical matters.
-Travel as needed to vendor, customer, or LM sites as needed to support program performance.

This position is for an engineer to perform the design, analysis, and requirements verification of high performance radar systems. The successful candidate will have strong analytical and communication skills and work well in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary environment.
A level 3 employee is typically mid-career and has 3 to 5+ years of professional experience.

Standard Job Description:
Designs, develops and oversees system architectures, including complex systems and systems design activities. Serves as focal point for the development and communication of the system architecture. Ensures conversion of mission requirements into total systems solutions that account for design and technology maturity constraints of the system. Develops systems and system element architecture, design, and interface definition. Supports internal and external design reviews. Maintains knowledge of current and developing technologies and design and analysis methodologies. Develops models and architectural guidelines for current and future system development
Basic Qualifications
Basic qualifications for this position include the following:
Experience in the design and/or integration of sensor systems such as radar systems or electronic warfare systems.
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) performance analysis tools such as MATLAB is required.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance to at least the Secret level.
Desired skills
Desired Skills for this position include the following:
Understanding of RF/Radar concepts including pulse width, Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), minimum range, beamwidths, etc.
Understanding of antenna concepts such as channelization, monopulse, antenna architectures, etc.
Understanding of IFF modes, waveforms, processing techniques, identifying information.
Platform level integration and testing.
Ability to travel occasionally.
Performing trades studies, requirements analysis, development, derivation, allocation, and documentation.
Engineering design/development, software development processes, and Systems/Software modeling.
Design tools and environments for Radar/IFF systems and/or subsystems for performance analysis/modeling.
Strong interpersonal skills with comfort working on geographically diverse teams.
Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
Model Based System Design, Test Automation, and Agile development experience.
