Job Title: SSO Expert Entra ID & Okta Specialist Location: Remote Working CST hours
Employment Type: Contract / Consultant
Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly experienced SSO (Single Sign-On) Expert to lead the migration of approximately 150 customers to our secure identity platform, primarily using Microsoft Entra ID with limited support for Okta. This role is critical in driving our strategic shift from Okta to Entra ID, ensuring seamless integrations, high security standards, and excellent client experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary point of contact and technical owner for all SSO-related initiatives.
- Lead the migration of 150+ clients from legacy identity platforms to Entra ID, with limited use of Okta.
- Collaborate with client stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to assess, plan, and execute SSO integrations.
- Optimize and reduce Okta license usage, targeting a significant reduction from current levels.
- Maintain a security-first approach, ensuring identity solutions meet high security standards.
- Support and mentor the internal SSO Administrator, acting as an escalation point for complex issues.
- Audit existing SSO configurations and recommend best practices for identity management.
- Proactively manage and document certificate expirations and renewals.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation for SSO configurations, processes, and client integrations.
Must-Have Skills & Experience:
- Deep expertise in Single Sign-On (SSO) implementations and identity federation.
- Proven experience working with Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) and Okta.
- Track record of successfully migrating clients or organizations to Entra ID.
- Strong understanding of identity lifecycle management, authentication protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth), and certificate management.
- Security-minded approach with a focus on governance, risk, and compliance.
- Client-facing experience, with exceptional communication, diplomacy, and soft skills.
- Ability to collaborate across departments and with external clients to deliver seamless identity solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Identity and Access Administrator, Okta Certified Professional).
- Experience working in a healthcare or highly regulated environment is a plus.
- Familiarity with identity architecture and enterprise IT ecosystems.
