Job Title: PostgreSQL/PGD Operations Engineer - L3

Location: St Louis, MO

Duration: Contract

Term: 12+ months

Job Description:

Experience Desired: 8+ Years.

Keep PGD/PDR healthy, manage failovers, tune Postgres, run incident response, and own runbooks.

Requirements: Production Postgres + PGD/PDR, Linux ops, replication troubleshooting, on-call discipline.


Tools & Technology

Critical Skills (Must-Have)

  • PostgreSQL at production depth (operations, performance, HA/DR) with PGD/PDR bi-directional replication expertise.
  • Cassandra operations for high-scale, low-latency workloads.
  • Strong RDBMS + NoSQL fundamentals; ability to diagnose/solve replication and availability incidents quickly.
  • Day-to-day operational run (alert triage, event response) and rapid scale-out of new builds across regions.

    • Preferred Skills (Nice-to-Have)

    • Familiarity with legacy Db2/mainframe context and card-network transaction patterns.
    • Experience with multi-region rollouts and production change management for regulated/mission-critical systems. (Inference from global scale-out objective.)
    • Strong automation/observability mindset (runbooks, scripting, metrics) to reduce MTTR and increase build throughput. (Best-practice extension for the stated ops/build goals.)


    Key Skills:
