Position: Senior Application Developer QuickBase
Division: Application Software Development (ASD), Office of Information Systems (OIS)
Client: DC Government Agency
The Application Software Development (ASD) Division within DHS OIS is seeking a Senior Application Developer with strong QuickBase development experience. This role supports the YSD Truancy Application and related initiatives, including troubleshooting, upgrades, enhancements, and ongoing platform improvements.
The ideal candidate will design, develop, deliver, and enhance client-server, web-based, cloud-based, and mobile applications, ensuring high quality, security, and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, deploy, and enhance QuickBase applications supporting case and program management.
- Lead development efforts for the YSD Truancy QuickBase Application.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to application, report, and query developers.
- Advise ASD leadership, management, and stakeholders on application strategy and best practices.
- Implement and enforce secure coding and programming standards to ensure defect-free applications.
- Collaborate daily with government clients to gather and meet technical requirements.
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to maintain application quality, security, and performance.
- Define, document, and maintain development processes, standards, and SOPs.
- Produce technical documentation including system diagrams, ER diagrams, user guides, and Visio network designs.
- Monitor application performance and troubleshoot system issues using performance analysis tools.
- Research and recommend new tools, technologies, and platforms to improve system efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Experience
- Hands-on QuickBase application development experience (required)
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies is preferred:
- Java, JavaScript, XML, HTML
- SQL Server, SQL/Procedural Language
- PHP, .NET/ASP, C#, WebLogic, BPEL
- Strong understanding of secure application development and deployment methodologies
- Experience working in government or enterprise IT environments preferred
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Education Requirements
Bachelor s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

| Experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end/back-end programming languages (e.g., Cognos, SQL) |
| Strong understanding of QuickBase features, functionalities, and best practices |
| Experience integrating with or utilizing Microsoft Power BI |
| Proficiency in database concepts and data modeling |
| Experience with issue tracking and application lifecycle tools (JIRA, Bugzilla, HP ALM) |
| Experience with Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) |
| Experience developing enterprise applications interacting with MS SQL Server and/or Oracle databases |
| Strong ETL experience within Data Warehouse / Business Intelligence platforms |
| Experience with databases using ADO.NET |
| Experience using Visual Studio 2010 or later with .NET Framework 2.0 4.6.2, including C# and VB |
