Supports M&R Core Operations Automation by utilizing programming skills, claim expertise, and analytical skills to write code (SAS/SQL) to query/extract data from claims repositories. Creates custom-tailored end-user data experiences by writing SQL queries in the Data on Demand dashboard. Collaborates with Business Analysts to create automated solutions that collects data to be sent to internal automations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret criteria for programming SAS/SQL reports
  • Create/Provide/Support ad hoc and scheduled reports by writing complex SAS/SQL code
  • Collaborate/Communicate with internal reporting customers and business partners
  • Identify/Create/Implement process and report improvements and efficiencies
  • Utilize working business process knowledge of claims, COSMOS, and metrics/reporting to interpret requests
  • Implement queries in the Data on Demand dashboard to help business partners achieve unique goals
  • Provide guidance to peers in completing requests
  • Find ways to improve existing processes through innovation

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of SQL or querying experience
  • 2+ years of problem solving or process improvement experience
  • An understanding of core programming concepts (looping, variables, functions, etc.)
  • Proven solid attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications:

  • COSMOS claims adjustment/rework processing experience
  • SAS development experience using SAS tools like PC SAS or SAS Enterprise Guide
  • Experience in gathering requirements
  • Knowledge of databases such as DB2, Teradata, SQL Server, Hive, Databricks, and Oracle
  • Background in software development

The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
