Job Description:

Tredence is seeking an experienced Senior Data Modeler to join a high-impact project for our pharmaceutical client, Eli Lilly. The ideal candidate will have 9+ years of hands-on experience in designing enterprise-level data models, working with both relational and cloud-based data platforms, and deep knowledge of pharma data domains. This is a critical role for shaping and supporting scalable data solutions for commercial analytics and regulatory compliance in the life sciences industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for enterprise data platforms.

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, and engineers to understand requirements and translate them into scalable data structures.

  • Ensure data models align with industry best practices and support regulatory and compliance needs within the pharmaceutical domain.

  • Perform data profiling, source-target mapping, and data lineage documentation.

  • Work with development teams to integrate models with ETL pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses.

  • Implement and maintain data modeling standards, naming conventions, and design patterns.

  • Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and model refinement.

  • Support data governance and metadata management initiatives.

  • Lead or contribute to model reviews and code walkthroughs to ensure quality and consistency.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of experience in data modeling, data architecture, or related data engineering roles.

  • Strong expertise in data modeling tools like Erwin, PowerDesigner, or ER/Studio.

  • Deep understanding of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and cloud platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).

  • Proficiency in SQL for complex querying and validation.

  • Experience with pharma/life sciences data including sales, patient, clinical, or compliance datasets.

  • Familiarity with star and snowflake schemas, dimensional modeling, and OLAP/OLTP structures.

  • Strong experience in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and integration of structured/unstructured data.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


Preferred Skills:

  • Exposure to master data management (MDM) and data governance frameworks.

  • Knowledge of HIPAA, GDPR, or other healthcare data compliance standards.

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.

  • Understanding of metadata management tools and practices.
