Job Description
We are seeking a Batch Developer Lead to join our team in Albany, NY. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining high-volume batch processing solutions that support large-scale financial management and child support systems. The ideal candidate will migrate legacy mainframe batch jobs into Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform)-based, scalable, cloud-native processes, ensuring compliance, reliability, and performance.
Responsibilities
Analyze legacy mainframe batch jobs and re-engineer them into modern Google Cloud Platform-based workflows.
Develop cloud-native batch processes for payment files, bank interfaces, disbursements, adjustments, reconciliations, and audit reports.
Implement monitoring, error handling, and recovery mechanisms to ensure system reliability.
Support data migration with accurate ETL pipelines for historical payment and account data.
Collaborate with SMEs, QA, analysts, and conversion specialists for compliant and accurate batch operations.
Conduct volume testing, reconciliation checks, and exception handling with QA teams.
Identify opportunities for process simplification while ensuring compliance with federal and state mandates.
Mandatory Qualifications
7+ years of experience in batch processing for financial management systems.
7+ years with mainframe batch technologies (COBOL, ECL, DMS/RDMS).
2+ years in a developer leadership role.
Proven experience migrating mainframe solutions to cloud-native platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years experience with Integrated Eligibility Systems (IES) or Child Support Services systems.
Knowledge of child support-specific processes (SDU, UIFSA, federal offset, tax intercepts).
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform tools: Cloud Functions, Dataflow, Pub/Sub.
Experience designing monitoring/exception handling for high-volume batch jobs.
Familiarity with federal/state policies impacting child support financial operations.
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
